From 21 till 24 of may Saint Petersburg “Lenexpo” will host 5th international music and musical instruments exhibition Musikmesse ProLight + Sound St. Petersburg.

Participants will demonstrate acoustic and electronic music instruments, professional lightning, sound and recording equipment, new computer technologies created for show performances and other achievements.

Musikmesse`s program is full of interesting events. In particular famous Petersburg musician, artist and scientist Valentin Afanasyev is going to demonstrate unique abilities of lights and sound system. Afanasyev proved that one same sound can be characterized by three different colors depending on location of it in the surrounding space. This discovery is licensed in France and Russia and supported by Russian Academy of science and International organization UNESCO. In the experimental metrology laboratory of the University of .D. Mendeleev this discovery was confirmed from mathematic, physiology and psychology points by scientists from different parts of the world. Afanasyev successfully demonstrates abilities of his system all over the world, also he cooperates with Mariinsky Theatre where several opera performances are held with the support of lightning and sound extravaganza.        

Various Russian and Europe music industry professionals will participate in conferences, seminars and discussions during the Petersburg`s Musikmesse. Focus will be on new business models for record labels and artists, latest technological solutions. In particular Mariinsky Theatre representatives will tell about advantages of the new technologies for musical instruments, and the artistic director of symphonic orchestra “Classica” Alexander Cantorov is going to present new educational project “Population of the happiness”. Executives of new business format company – community for music and entertainment industry professionals www.yamga.ru – will show a presentation about branding possibilities for artists and licensing of musical content in the internet space, their colleagues from project “Graflandia” (computer games producers) are going to present another lecture about the music potential in modern computer casual games.  

 “Lenexpo” is going to turn into fabulous music stage, where the stars of modern, classic, electronic, pop, rock and jazz will perform. Afanasyev’s system is about to rock the show. Orchestra is going to perform classical compositions using instruments of light. Notes projected into glimpses of lights by composer Ivan Poleh musicians are going to play on synthesizers, keyboards which will be connected with the equipment projecting light with the help of computer program.

This exhibition in Saint Petersburg is a logical continuation of international Musikmesse which is held in Frankfurt for more than 20 years up to date. In April 2009 more than 100 000 peoples visited this fabulous event where more than 1 500 companies from 51 countries of the world were presented.
